11/5/09 Dragon Crew Hits Colorado
The Dragon crew consisting of Will Howard (CEO/Founder), Mike Tobia (Product Manager), Denise Arnett (CO Rep), and myself began our day over in Beaver Creek, CO at One Track Mind right at the base of the hill. We hooked up with Ryan Palmer right in time to see the latest in carpet cleaning tech and some pretty cool new gear. The shop looked great even though town is still pretty quiet. From there we headed into Vails new Lionshead Village where Specialy Sports has a few doors including another One Track. This shop is the creme de la creme of shops. Main men Tony and Chris have made the trek all the way from the East Coast to run the shop for the season and from the looks of the store right now it is going to be a good one.
A quick lunch with Erin from SSV at Bart and Yeti’s and we were off to Copper Mountain to visit Steve Stevensen and crew at Gravitee. Gravitee is as core as it gets, Steve has been there with the shop for six years and has more knowledge of the shred scene than most in this industry. Copper Mountain is also home to Woodward at Copper. Woodward is the famed BMX and Skate camps all around the US and they have just opened up the “Barn” in Copper as there latest addition. Morrison was kind enough to show us around while some campers were sending it into the foam pits.
Podium Sports in Frisco was our next stop. If you need any of your ski services dealt with in a great environment swing in there and ask for Bryan, he will get you dialed for sure. The shop just opened up this summer and are well prepared for the winter.
Sun Logic has a couple shops located in the heart of Breckenridge. One great shop on the corner that has more shades and goggles than I have ever seen and a flagship location right on main street. If your roaming main street in Breck and need some eye protection make sure to stop in there and speak to Justin. He is the man and will get you dialed… If you have any issues with him ask for Ron (Owner) and he will squared away.
A twelve pack of Bud was all we needed to convince Andy over at the Underground Snowboard Shop to let us utilize his bench to tune our boards up for the day of shred at Loveland in the morning. The Underground has been in Breck since 1988. Some real history down there for sure.
Southridge Seafood Grill was where we had dinner plans with a large group and we made sure that we tried nearly every item on the menu. Big thanks to Jeff and the crew there for putting up with us. We will be back for sure.
