10/6/09  Owen Wright Qualifies for 2010 WCT!!!

According to a post on www.aspworldtour.com, Aussie phenom Owen Wright has secured a spot on the 2010 ASP World Championship Tour after a 5th place finish at the Local Motion Pro at Guaruja in Brazil which lifter him above 14,000 points, considered the number needed to make the tour. Wright, who is one of the few rookies who would be considered a threat at nearly every venue, dispatched none other than Kelly Slater at the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach earlier in the year and is considered as one of the most progressive surfers in the world right now. Congrats to Owen, we look forward to seeing some new blood on the World Tour! Along with Wright, Australia’s Dan Ross and Brazilian surfer Jadson Andre are now considered locks on the 2010 ASP World Tour. Just on the bubble is San Clemente’s Pat Gudauskas with 13,551 points.

Congrats Owen….
